Membership

Students wishing to join a sorority must be academically eligible to participate in a joining process of the organizations. Students may not formally begin an intake process until they are deemed eligible by the Office of Student Activities -  Fraternity & Sorority Affairs.

  • Register with the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs. (You will have to login with your Winthrop email credentials to complete it.)

  • Enrollment as an active Winthrop University student 

  • Completion of 12 university credit hours 

  • 2.5 cumulative GPA (Please note: Many chapters have a higher academic requirement for membership than the one listed here. Be sure to ask about individual chapter expectations during the recruitment process/interest meeting.)

*Transfer students in their first semester at Winthrop must submit a transcript to the Office of Student Activities (DIGS 269) for verification of GPA and credits from their most previous institution. Please place in a sealed envelope with your name and Attn: Fraternity & Sorority Affairs - Transcript for Fraternity & Sorority Eligibility.

- Register with the office of fraternity and Sorority Affairs

- Attend Unwritten Rules for the semester you are trying to join

- Attend the informational meeting
